Recommend denial. <br />Permits <br />Dance Permit - street closure, City services, San Salvador Catholic Church, <br />June 1 through 3, 1979, Friday through Sunday, Annual Fiesta. <br />co Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve the Con - <br />m sent Calendar. Vote was unanimous. <br />Professional Organizations <br />Fire Department <br />Q <br />Mayor Gonzales referred to a letter dated April 30, 1979, from the Colton Rotary <br />Club regarding a presentation to be made to the Colton Fire Department. <br />Mr. Russ Burton, President of the Colton Rotary Club, stated it was with great <br />pleasure the Rotary Club donates the "Jaws of Life" machine to the Colton Fire <br />Department for their use. <br />Mr. Bob Trimble, Fire Operations Officer, stated on behalf of Fire Chief Al <br />Teague, the Paramedics, and all of the Colton Fire Department, he was.very <br />happy to accept this donation and the "Jaws of Life" machine from the Colton <br />Rotary Club. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full the following Proclamations, presenting them to the <br />recipient's present: <br />243 <br />Municipal Clerk's Week, May 13 through 19, 1979 - presented to City Clerk <br />Ramos. <br />Correct Posture Month, May - presented to Dr. Augustine Amerigo, President <br />of the San Bernardino Chiropractic Society. <br />Multiple Sclerosis Month, May 13 through June 17, 1979 - presented to Pauline <br />McKim, Chairman of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. <br />Commendation & Appreciation to Bud Allen - presented to Councilman Hayes to <br />be given to Mr. Allen. <br />Buddy Poppy Days, May 18 & 195 1979 - presented to Mr. Harry Mills, VFW Post <br />in Colton. <br />Community Relations <br />Recreation <br />Mayor Gonzales advised that the California Portland Cement Company is willing to <br />donate $30,000 for the construction of tennis courts adjacent to the existing <br />courts at Municipal Park. <br />Mayor Gonzales stated this is a very worthwhile and generous contribution towards <br />a recreational facility for the City of Colton, and recommended the City Council <br />accept the donation. <br />Councilman Rehrer recommended a letter of appreciation and thanks be sent to the <br />California Portland Cement Company, and this matter referred to the Planning Com- <br />mission for their input and recommendation. <br />City Manager Calabrese advised this matter has been presented to the Recreation and <br />Parks Commission for their information, and to the Recreation Director. <br />MAY 16 1979 <br />
