Unanimous vote. <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Vacations <br />Res. No. 3913 <br />City Manager Calabrese presented Resolution No. 3913 for consideration and approval, <br />concerning the vacation of Lot "A" in Tract No. 7582, which was reviewed and approv- <br />ed by the Planning Commission at a meeting held April 10, 1979. <br />Mr. Calabrese advised Staff recommends approval of the vacation of Lot "A", with <br />the condition to reserve.an easement over and across the width and length for <br />utility purposes. <br />Moved by�Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution No. <br />3913. Vote was unanimous. <br />_RESOLUTION NO. 3913 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE ABANDONMENT OF LOT "A" IN <br />TRACT NO. 7582. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Contracts <br />PERS Amendment <br />City Manager Calabrese introduced Ordinance No. 1564 for First Reading, relating <br />to an amendment of the Contract between the City of Colton and the State Public <br />Employees' Retirement System, to provide for the payment by the City of one-half <br />of the employee's contribution to the retirement system, which was agreed upon by <br />the City in the Memorandum of Understanding effective July 1, 1978. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Mayor Gonzales, to approve First Reading of <br />Ordinance No. 1564, and waive further reading;. Unanimous vote. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1564 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AUTHORIZ- <br />First Reading ING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL AND <br />THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' <br />RETIREMENT SYSTEM. <br />_Federally Funded Projects <br />Police Department <br />Mr. Calabrese presented Resolution No. 3914 for consideration and approval, authoriz- <br />ing and approving an application to receive grant funds for a crime prevention program <br />entitled "STOP", Stop Theft of Property. <br />Mr. Calabrese referred to a detailed report submitted by the Chief of Police, together <br />with a copy of the grant application. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve RESOLUTION NO. <br />3914. Unanimous vote. <br />Mayor Gonzales and the Council Members commended Police Chief Elliott and the Police <br />Department for their excellent crime prevention programs and the work they are doing. <br />Agreements <br />Amendment, J.P.A. <br />Mr. Calabrese advised at a meeting of the East Valley Transit Service Authority <br />held April 18, 1979, the EVTSA Joint Powers Agreement was amended to include the <br />City of Grand Terrace as a member, referring to a copy of the amendment. <br />Mr. Calabrese stated it is recommended the Mayor be authorized to execute the amend- <br />ment. <br />MAY 16 1979 <br />
