0) <br />Q <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no pro - <br />39• <br />tests or objections had been received. <br />City Manager Gonzales stated the Resolution for consideration and approval this <br />evening is routine, concerning the 1980 Weed Abatement Program, and offers the op- <br />portunity for protests or objections thereto to be heard. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to terminate the <br />Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution <br />No. 3992. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3992 - WEED ABATEMENT, FINDING, DETERMINING AND DECLARING INSUFFI- <br />CIENT OBJECTIONS OR PROTESTS TO THE REMOVAL OF PUBLIC NUISANCE. <br />ELECTIONS: <br />Res. No. 3993 <br />City Attorney Edwards read in full Resolution No. 3993, declaring the results of <br />the General Municipal Election held April 8, 1980. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Mayor Gonzales, to approve Resolution No. <br />3993. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />3993 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALI- <br />FORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD <br />IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 8, 19803 DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND <br />SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW. <br />Mayor Gonzales then asked all of the newly elected officials to step forward and re- <br />ceive the Oath of Office. <br />Judge David McKenna, of the Colton Justice Court, administered the Oath of Office <br />to City Clerk Helen Ramos, and issued a Certificate of Election to her. <br />Mayor Gonzales then presented a commemorative plaque to City Clerk Ramos signifying <br />her years of service and dedication to the City of Colton. <br />City Clerk Ramos administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Frank A. Gonzales, Council- <br />woman Pauline A. Garcia, Councilman Leroy Rehrer, and City Treasurer Margaret A. <br />Berkebile, and issued to each one a Certificate of Election. <br />Mayor Gonzales also presented a plaque to City Treasurer Margaret Berkebile for her <br />years of service to the community. <br />Councilman Hayes presented a commendatory plaque to Mayor Gonzales in appreciation <br />for his years of service to the community as a Councilman and Mayor. <br />Councilwoman Garcia stated she would like to thank her husband Tony, and all of <br />the people that supported her and voted for her. <br />Councilman Rehrer said he would also like to thank the people that voted for him, <br />and all of the people that just got out and voted. Mr. Rehrer introduced his wife, <br />Evelyn. <br />Mayor Gonzales said he would like to thank everyone for their vote of confidence and <br />for their support on election day, stating that in the next two years the City of <br />Colton will move ahead and progress. Mayor Gonzales introduced his wife, Lee, to the <br />audience. <br />Mayor Pro Tem <br />Councilwoman Garcia nominated Councilman Hayes for Mayor Pro Tempore. Councilman <br />Rehrer stated that he would second the nomination. <br />Councilman Hayes was unanimously elected as Mayor Pro Tempore. <br />Appointments <br />Mayor Gonzales stated he would like to recommend for appointment to the Board of <br />Directors of OMNITRANS and SANBAG the Mayor as Representative and Councilwoman <br />Garcia as Alternate. <br />APR 1 1980 <br />
