City Manager Gonzales stated the Resolution for consideration and approval this evening is routine, concerning the 1980 Weed Abatement Program, and offers the op- portunity for protests or objections thereto to be heard. Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone desired to speak on this matter. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to terminate the Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution No. 3992. Vote was unanimous. RESOLUTION NO. 3992 - WEED ABATEMENT, FINDING, DETERMINING AND DECLARING INSUFFI- CIENT OBJECTIONS OR PROTESTS TO THE REMOVAL OF PUBLIC NUISANCE. ELECTIONS: Res. No. 3993 City Attorney Edwards read in full Resolution No. 3993, declaring the results of the General Municipal Election held April 8, 1980. Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Mayor Gonzales, to approve Resolution No. 3993. Unanimous vote. RESOLUTION NO. 3993 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALI- FORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 8, 19803 DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW. Mayor Gonzales then asked all of the newly elected officials to step forward and re- ceive the Oath of Office. Judge David McKenna, of the Colton Justice Court, administered the Oath of Office to City Clerk Helen Ramos, and issued a Certificate of Election to her. Mayor Gonzales then presented a commemorative plaque to City Clerk Ramos signifying her years of service and dedication to the City of Colton. City Clerk Ramos administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Frank A. Gonzales, Council- woman Pauline A. Garcia, Councilman Leroy Rehrer, and City Treasurer Margaret A. Berkebile, and issued to each one a Certificate of Election. Mayor Gonzales also presented a plaque to City Treasurer Margaret Berkebile for her years of service to the community. Councilman Hayes presented a commendatory plaque to Mayor Gonzales in appreciation for his years of service to the community as a Councilman and Mayor. Councilwoman Garcia stated she would like to thank her husband Tony, and all of the people that supported her and voted for her. Councilman Rehrer said he would also like to thank the people that voted for him, and all of the people that just got out and voted. Mr. Rehrer introduced his wife, Evelyn. Mayor Gonzales said he would like to thank everyone for their vote of confidence and for their support on election day, stating that in the next two years the City of Colton will move ahead and progress. Mayor Gonzales introduced his wife, Lee, to the audience. Mayor Pro Tem Councilwoman Garcia nominated Councilman Hayes for Mayor Pro Tempore. Councilman Rehrer stated that he would second the nomination. Councilman Hayes was unanimously elected as Mayor Pro Tempore. Appointments Mayor Gonzales stated he would like to recommend for appointment to the Board of Directors of OMNITRANS and SANBAG the Mayor as Representative and Councilwoman Garcia as Alternate.
