355 <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RMCOMMENDATIONS : <br />PERSONNEL - RETIREMENT <br />Social Security <br />City Attorney Edwards reported that Resolution No. 3965 relating <br />to providing benefits to certain salaried employees replacing <br />Social Security Benefits is shown on tonights' agenda, however, on <br />request of the Employee Association it is recommended that this <br />resolution not be considered tonight and that it be withdrawn <br />pending further review of this item by the Association. <br />On Council consensus, Resolution No. 3965 was withdrawn from the <br />agenda. <br />PERS Contract <br />City Attorney Edwards reported the process to amend the contract <br />between the City and PERS includes a disclosure of the cost, this <br />(Y� reported in October as 1.443% of payroll - annually at the current <br />rate, $28,895 and included a 1959 Survivors program. Since that <br />time, the 1959 Survivors Program has been eliminated and the <br />reduced cost is now being reported as 443/0 of payroll and $8,870. <br />Mr. Edwards continued saying, prior to adoption ion of a <br />g P p n ordinance <br />to amend the City's contract with PERS a resolution of intention <br />must be adopted, therefore staff recommends adoption of Resolution <br />No. 3966. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, <br />to approve Resolution No. 3966. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3966 - RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO APPROVE AN <br />AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF <br />ADMINISTRATION OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' <br />RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON. <br />ELECTIONS <br />April 8. 1980 Gen. Mun . <br />City Attorney Edwards explained Resolution No. 3967 pertains <br />regulations for candidates for elective office and material to be <br />submitted to the electorate. <br />Moved by Councilman Temby, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve <br />Resolution No. 3967. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3967 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING REGULATIONS FOR <br />CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE, PERTAINING TO <br />MATERIALS SUBMITTED TO THE ELECTORATE AND THE <br />COSTS THEREOF FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 1980. <br />CITY CODES <br />National Electric Code <br />City Attorney Edwards recommended the City Council adopt the current <br />edition of the National Electrical Code, 1978 Edition, as well as the <br />1975 Edition of the Uniform Wiring Code which remains in effect. <br />Ordinance No. 1577 was submitted for first reading. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Temby to pass first <br />reading of Ordinance No. 1577.
