_..�_J..1:.J.'.^.'J <br />6�,/(`11 <br />Mrs. Andengaard stated Page 129, Civic Center, shows allocations to <br />provide improvements to the Employees' Lounge. <br />Mrs. Andengaard reported Page 131, Telephone System.,'shows the <br />purchase of off premise telephone, that are currently being leased. <br />Mrs. Andengaard and Mr. Young presented the Miscellaneous Equipment <br />request for Data Processing, shown on Page 150. Staff is desirous of <br />of effecting cost savings in labor and downtime of the computer for <br />programming, by the purchase of this advance equipment. <br />City Attorney <br />City Attorney Edwards reported his budget is about the same as last <br />years, with the exception of an increase in Travel b Meetings, Page <br />171, of $500.00. <br />Citv Treasurer <br />Acting Finance Director Andengaard reported there are no changes in <br />the City Treasure'r's budget, however, there is a reduction in the <br />Office Equipment request on Page 184. Mrs. Andengaard stated the <br />City Treasurer was able to secure a price of $535.00 for the needed <br />equipment. <br />RECESS: <br />Council recessed for ten minutes. <br />Planning <br />Planning Director Aguilera reported he would like to highlight three <br />accounts. Mr. Aguilera stated the first is on Page 186, Building and <br />Planning Personnel. Mr. Aguilera stated that at the present time, <br />when the City is experiencing much growth, the department is operati <br />with less people than it had three years ago. Mr. Aguilera pointed <br />out that the Department is one that pays for itself, by the fees it <br />collects in processing project applications. <br />Mr. Aguilera stated the second account is that of Community Develop- <br />ment. Mr. Aguilera reported the City will receive $50,000; of that, <br />$5,000 is for administration costs to oversee the update of the <br />General Plan. Mr. Aguilera stated the total cost of the General Plan <br />update is $63,500, with $45,000 coming from the balance of the Com- <br />munity Development money, and another $17,500 will be needed to make <br />the $63,500. Mr. Aguilera said the $17,500 is reflected in Account <br />35, Professional Services on Page 225. <br />Planning Director Aguilera stated on Page 206, Account 91, the depart- <br />ment has requested a 4 -wheel drive vehicle to due necessary <br />inspections in hilly and sandy -loomed areas. <br />City Manager Elliott stated the department has just acquired a pickup <br />from the Electric Department. <br />Mr. Aguilera stated the pickup, a 1972 which was being replaced by <br />the Electric Department, was intended for interim use only. <br />City Manager Elliott said he would look into this and get it taken <br />r° <br />care of. <br />Police <br />Acting Chief Connolly stated the Temporary Salaries, on Page 230, <br />reflects $2,000 for a temporary typist during the time, the permanent <br />Secretary is on maternity leave. <br />City Manager Elliott stated that if the permanent employee was out of <br />benefits, the City would realize a savings in salaries and this would <br />be looked into. <br />Mr. Connolly reported Page 240, Office Equipment, reflects replacement <br />furniture for the Chief's Office.. <br />JUN 13 1985 <br />
