On all streets where the vridth of said streets between property lireE <br />is less than forty (40) feet, the above m.er,tioned distance shall be <br />six (6-) feet. <br />Section 3. <br />The cement concrete for cement curbs and gutters air -all be <br />composed of one (1) part of Portland Cement; <br />Three (3) parts of siznd or atone screcninge; <br />Five (5) parts of broken stone. <br />Cement. The cement used shall be of such duality as to conform to <br />the requirements of Ordinance No. l of the City of Calton. <br />Sands <br />All sand must be free from oil or organic matter and must con - <br />twin not more than five (5j,) per cent by volume of clay or silt. <br />?ot less than ninety (91*) per cent by volume of the sand shall pass <br />a screen having four (4) meshes to the linear inch, and at least <br />fifty (50%) per cent, but not more than eighty-five (850) per cent <br />by volume, shall be retained on a. screen having thirty (30) meshes <br />to the linear inch. <br />Broken Stone. <br />Broken stone shall be the rur of the crushers except however, <br />that none of t_e stone shall be of greater size than will pass a <br />ring two (2) inches in diameters and not more than ten (10%) per cent <br />shall be of greater size than will pass through a ring one and one- <br />half (1j) inches in diameter. <br />Gravel. <br />In place of broken stone, gravel may be used, provided <br />in all cases that the gravel is satisfactory in quality to the Sup- <br />erintendent of Streets and the: City Engineer, and provided further <br />that the relative proportions of cement and gravel shall be deter- <br />mined by the City Engineer. <br />Contractors must in all cases submit samples of cement, sand,, <br />and broken store or gravel, free of charge to tre City Engineer, who <br />shall examine sage and either pass or reject it. <br />
