MIXING 0 <br />All mixing shall be done by machines, or upon a tight platform. <br />` `Suitable boxes and al1proportione shall: be obtained by actual meas- <br />urements and no material shal/be used which has not been thus meas- <br />ured. <br />eas <br />cared. The concrete crust stand in the forms and be thoroughly tamped <br />in all, cases. <br />Yo concrete or cement shall be used that s:Iows evidence of hav- <br />ing set or that has become unfit for good work fr or: standing too lone <br />or from any other cause, and no remixing of concrete will be allowed. <br />Under no circumstances shall concrete be put on the work after <br />the initial set has taken place. <br />As soon as possible after the concrete has been placed in the <br />[M forms and before the concrete shall rave taken its final set, a. fin- <br />ish coat or plaster one-half (J) inch thick shall be applied to the <br />surface of the sidewalk and to the top and sides of the curb to a <br />depth of ten (10) inches. Cement mortar for finishing coat for side« <br />w&lk and curb shall be composed of one (1) part cement and one and <br />one-half (li) parts sharp, coarses screened sand. The surface shall <br />tbin. be narked off into blocks not to exceed three (3) feet in length. <br />The contractor shall stamp his name on all sidewalk and curb viork <br />done by him at intervals of not less than one hundred (100) feet on <br />continuous work, and not less than once on each job of less than one <br />hundred (100) feet. The letters shall not be smaller than three foUrths <br />( ) inches in height and of proportional width* They must be sunken <br />to a depth of not less than one quarter (J) of an inch. <br />Said sidewalk and curb must be covered with earth and thoroughly <br />watered for at least eight (8) days after completion. <br />Sidewalks and curbs must be so constructed that a line drawn <br />from the top of the curb at the face, at right angles to the curb <br />line, to the property line, shall 'rave a uniform rise of one quarter <br />(} inch for every foot of distance from the face of the curb to the <br />property line.
