Section 15.04.020 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended in its <br />entirety to read as follows: <br />"15.04.020 Amendments to the Codes. <br />A. Designated sections of the California Building Code, 2013 Edition, are <br />hereby amended as set forth below: <br />1. SECTION 903.2 Where required is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />903.2 Where required. Approved automatic sprinkler systems in new buildings or <br />structures shall be provided in locations described in this section regardless of fire <br />resistive separation walls. <br />In all existing structures and occupancies not equipped with an automatic sprinkler <br />system, the following requirements shall apply: <br />1. For existing buildings smaller than 5,000 square feet in gross floor area, when an <br />addition causes the structure to exceed 5,000 square feet and such addition is equal <br />to or greater than 50% of the existing square footage, the entire structure shall be <br />provided with an automatic sprinkler system. <br />2. For existing buildings larger than 5,000 square feet in gross floor area, when an <br />addition is equal to or greater than 10% of the existing square footage, the entire <br />structure shall be provided with an automatic sprinkler system. <br />3. For existing buildings larger than 5,000 square feet in gross floor area, when <br />extensive renovation or remodeling is done to more than 50% of the gross floor <br />area, and when a change of use that, in the opinion of the fire code official using the <br />guidance of this Code, increases the likelihood of, or increases the danger to <br />occupants in a fire incident, the entire area shall be provided with an automatic <br />sprinkler system. <br />2. SECTION 903.2.1 Group A is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />903.2.1 Group A. An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided throughout <br />buildings and portions thereof used as Group A occupancies as provided in this <br />section. <br />23152.06300\8351650.2 <br />- 5 - <br />
